The masthead is an important component of every brand. It is the first thing readers notice, and it establishes the tone for the magazine's theme. A well-designed masthead may reflect the magazine's heart and personality and assists in the establishment of a strong visual brand. In this blog post, I'll talk about how I created my final masthead, the design decisions I made, and the color palette I chose.

Here is my final masthead design:

My masthead is a dark brown all capital serif font with a star in each vowel, in the font Rosie Brown Serif. I chose this one because I felt that it really portrayed the desired aesthetic of my magazine. The stars evoke feelings of beauty and strength, while the rich brown tone adds refinement and elegance. Also, the choice of serif font helps to create a feeling of distinction and timelessness, which conveys to the the audience that my magazine is polished and refined.

The color brown is generally linked with nature and warmth, and I wanted the design to express a sense of gentleness. The subtle dark brown tone I picked provides a mix between power and warmth, suggesting openness while still being professional and bold through the capitalization and serif lettering.

Throughout the design process, I experimented with many colors and designs in pursuit of my desired blend of strength, warmth, and charm. Finally, I settled with this final design, which I feel reflects the essence of my magazine and sets the tone for the content I plan to put in it.
