4 magazine genres that I am interested in exploring are:
Beauty:
I chose the Beauty magazine genre because it is an outlet to express beauty through a lens, and a way to share allure with others through beauty products. It gives photographers a way to share beauty products that they like, as a way to advertise products they find useful. I chose this photo as an example because I thought that the shadow of water on the bottle, along with the pop of orange from the label and top made for a really distinctive and aesthetically pleasing piece.
Fashion:
I chose the fashion magazine genre because it is an expressive way to show off unique styles through clothing and poses to convey their feeling. This gives photographers an outlet to show off fashion and clothing that they appreciate and want to advertise to the public, as well as giving models a chance to try new styles for photoshoots. I chose this photo as an example because I really liked how dynamic the model's pose is. I also liked her style of clothing, and thought that the composition made for a really nice shot.
Travel:
I chose the travel magazine genre because it is a beautiful way to capture the beauty of Earth. There are so many stunning places to visit, and travel photography is a perfect way to take in the landscape and capture a moment in your journeys. I chose this photo as an example because I thought that the sunset looked really pretty reflected on the river, and the sunlight shining off of the dandelions looked very charming.
Pets:
I chose the pets magazine genre because it is a heartwarming way to appreciate the beauty of life in all forms. No matter what kind of pet you have, pet photography is a very cute way to capture the serene nature of pets and their lives. I chose this photo as an example because I thought that this photo conveyed a quiet tranquility that puts the mind at ease. The cat in this photo looks very comfortable in such an undisturbed nap among the field of flowers, which made this shot very pleasant.
